October Happenings: Writers, Coding, LGBTQIA, Food

Writers Workshop for Teens
Every Other Monday
October 3, 17 and 31
Robbins Library Reference Desk
Work with Lynette Benton, published writer and writing instructor, to begin or move forward on your writing projects. Ms. Benton will inspire and guide you on your writing journey. If you wish, bring writing you’ve been working on (short story, novel excerpt, poetry). The group meets every other Monday for six sessions.  For ages 12-18.

LGBTQ+ Drop In

Are you a lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, ace, or questioning teen? Are you a teen ally for LGBTQIA teens? If you answered yes to either of these questions then we invite you to come to this event! Meet like-minded teens from the community and enjoy an afternoon of fun.

Early Release Movie and Gaming
Tuesday, October 18
1:30-3:30 p.m.
Robbins Library Community Room
Enjoy the early release day with snacks, a screening of Ghostbusters (2016), and Wii U in the Community Room. Open to those in grades 6-12. 

Girls Who Code Club
Wednesdays Starting October 19 through June 14
Robbins Library Community Room
A club for girls (based on identity) interested in coding. Open to those in grades 6 through 12. All levels of coders welcome; this is a self directed learning environment with projects available based on personal knowledge base. Space is limited, check back for specifics on how to be entered into the club.

Food Friday!
Friday, October 28
3-4 p.m.
Robbins Library Teen Area
Teens, come to the Teen Area and sample the latest food gimmick! This food tasting event is for those in grades 6-12.
