Teen Movie Today 3:00

We are playing a Teen Movie at Robbins Library today from 3:00 - 5:00 PM in the Community Room.  I can't say the title of the movie, but it is an Avengers movie and the character does wear a suit made out of metal.  If you want to find out more check the fliers around the library or call the reference desk.

100th Anniversary of the Sinking of the Titanic

On April 14th 1912 the Titanic struck an iceberg during it's maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City. "The Unsinkable Ship" sunk at 2:20 the next morning, April 15th killing about 1,500 people. Discovery of the wreckage in 1985 sparked new interest in the tragedy.

This weekend marks the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. If you are interested in learning more about the Titanic, here are some great online resources.

Encyclopedia Britannica is a great resource filled with a variety of different features. You can learn about all the different parts of the ships from the funnels to the Turkish baths through their Diagram of the Titanic under "Interactive Features". They also have a list of online resources.

The Official Site of the Titanic is maintained by the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, and Heritage. You can browse through Museum artifacts and records. They also have a list of Titanic events happening all over the world.

Nation Geographic has an Education Site that is in Beta Testing. They have videos, photos and even games.
