"Glow"
Glow
Amy Kathleen Ryan

"Suddenly the ship's alarm blared. The Captain's voice came through the intercom, so shrill and loud that she didn't understand the words." (Page 24)

I can't lie... I kind of wish I could be home reading this book right now. I only got to read a few chapters last night, but it has me hooked!

Feel free to share your teaser sentences by adding a comment.

*I am reading the advanced readers' edition of "Glow" so the page numbers and wording may have changed.

  • The Help- Stockett
  • Monster High- Harrison
  • Going Bovine- Bray
  • Delirium- Oliver
  • Wintergirls- Anderson

"The Romeo and Juliet Code"

Phoebe Stone

"We hadn't been able to find any boat that would take us to America. We heard about another British Boat, the SS Athenia, that had been full of Americans going home and had been sunk by a German U-boat." (Page 33)

DON'T JUDGE THIS BOOK BY THE COVER! The cover has NOTHING to do with the story! I know "The Romeo and Juliet Code" may seem a little young to some of you, but it is a really great book. The characters are fantastic and there are plenty of mysteries to keep any reading intrigued.

"I want to kill him for touching it. I want to say words that will slice him to bits, but I have none." (Page 6)

I am really enjoying "Revolution" so far. I have just heard so many great things about the book that I had to read it.

The Hunger Games Theatrical Trailer!

OMG! I was seriously worried when I first heard that they were making "The Hunger Games" into a movie, but this trailer has me very excited! I am definitely going to be breaking out my "Hunger Games" t-shirt and wait in line on opening night for this one!

I am also thinking about how we could celebrate the release of this movie at the library... maybe a movie release party? Any thoughts?

Feel free to comment with party ideas or just thoughts about the movie in general.

"Goliath"
Scott Westerfeld

"As the Leviathan drew closer to the dead airbeast, Deryn spotted more bones among the fallen tress below. The skeletons of mammothines, horses and smaller creatures were scattered like tenpins across the forest floor." (Page 69)

This is the final book in "The Leviathan Trilogy". I recommend giving this series a try to any reader who enjoys adventure, Steampunk, sci-fi, and/or WWI.
